February Newsletter

February 28, 2018

Dear Friends,

February seems like it passed by so quickly!  Maybe it was the number of days in February or the large amount ministry work entrusted to us by God.  Regardless, we are thankful for the many blessings He has given this past month!

Almost every month we have the opportunity to visit the local Christian Shelter with our sending church, but this month the youth pastor was not available to run the service.  It was a joy to take some of our youth to serve at the shelter, lead the worship service, and preach the sermon.  The kids who came with us were able to serve pizza to the residents at the shelter and spend time getting to know them during dinner service.  As usual, we followed up dinner with a worship service led by Michele.  After worship, Patrick offered a short gospel filled message that we pray reached some of the folks who do not know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.  It was a blessing for us and we hope that it was also a blessing for the youth and residents of the shelter.

Many of our Sundays this past month were filled with church presentations around our home base. We visited Harvester Baptist in Ellicott City, Capitol Allentown Baptist in Fort Washington, and Calvary Baptist in Denton. We are grateful that we could share about our future ministry in The Gambia to so many of God’s children. In the coming two months we are scheduled to visit five churches in a relatively short distance to our home and one in New York. Two of the visits we will be making are for multiple day mission conferences. Please keep us in your prayers as we begin to travel more frequently to churches.

The other half of our prefield journey is focused on preparing us for the mission ahead.  We are wrapping up one of our required classes and will begin a new class next month.  Over the course of our time on prefield, we will take numerous graduate level courses covering a spectrum of biblical and evangelical subjects, attend field specific training at ABWE, and practice hands on applications.  The time needed to raise the financial support is only part of a much larger effort to prepare us for our future ministry in The Gambia.

Prayer Requests

Pray for our upcoming church visits and our safety as we travel.

Pray that funds will come in so the radio ministry in The Gambia will continue to broadcast to the lost.

Pray for Adelia, a missionary currently serving in The Gambia, who is having issues with her knee.

Pray for the supply of 12 bunk beds to Christian homes for 24 orphaned, abused, or abandon children in The Gambia.

Thank you all for your prayers!  Lord willing, we will have more to share with you in March…

In Christ,
