June has been a month full of God’s blessings. We have continued our weekly Bible studies, started new discipleship classes, participated in our sending church’s vacation Bible school, and watched God save several people. Patrick also fielded questions from an ordination council. It has been a busy month.
Patrick answering questions at the ordination council
In the beginning of the month, Grace Baptist Church convened an ordination council to hear Patrick’s testimony, calling, and ask questions to determine if he was ready to be ordained into the gospel ministry. At the end of approximately three of four hours, the council recommended that Grace Baptist Church ordain him into the ministry. The deacons of the church have voted in favor of ordination and the church will officially vote in July. The ordination ceremony is planned for August 19th.
We also had the privilege of participating in vacation Bible school (VBS) at Grace Baptist Church. Michele was one of the song leaders and also lead a group of children. Patrick participated in the adult class most of the week and spoke to each group on the last day about missions and The Gambia. Alyssa, Danielle, and Luke all participated in the various activities. They had a great time. Each year the church picks somewhere for the donations from VBS to go and this year they choose outfit and passage for our ministry in The Gambia. We are very thankful for all of the support our sending church provides our ministry including the special VBS support!
Michele and Matthew with their VBS group
The most exciting news this month were the salvations! There were at least two children saved during the VBS. The VBS ministry at Grace is such a blessing to so many people. The gentleman that Patrick has been going through The Story of Hope with also professed faith in Jesus Christ! We have been privileged to watch God’s mighty work first hand this month.
Pray for our upcoming church visits and our safety as we travel.
Pray for the various Bible studies that Patrick and Michele are leading.
Pray that God will provide more opportunities for us to share the gospel with the lost.
Thank you all for your prayers!
