April has been an incredible month of faith celebrations! With Ramadan and Easter happening so close, God opened the door to share biblical truths with our neighbors. Every conversation led us to point them to God’s love.

Thank you to all who prayed for our teammate Alison Dominguez after she fractured five vertebrae in her back during a car accident. Alison was emergency evacuated to London for care. She was then carefully monitored to see if surgery was necessary and fitted for a back brace. They monitored her healing for a month with the help of Ruth Wood, an ABWE representative, who stayed by Alison’s side throughout her time in London. Alison is now safely home in North Carolina with her church family to continue her recovery and is expected to be back by September. Another teammate, Joan Schmitz, gave a powerful testimony at Omega church about how God provided for every need of this incident, from finances to physical and spiritual healing.
Meanwhile, Omega Church hosted its annual beach picnic, and upon request Michele organized games. Everyone spent the afternoon laughing and playing favorites like “Secret Word” and doing a scavenger hunt. Later in April, we joined the Evangelical Church of The Gambia (ECG) for their Easter Baptismal service. We sang and celebrated Christ’s resurrection with our Gambian brothers and sisters because our hope in Christ is alive!

Our family also had the joy of serving alongside a Norwegian team who, years ago, built the Amazing Grace Annex Basic Cycle school. The school resides in a rural area that desperately needed education. When they asked if we could lend a hand, we didn’t hesitate; after all, many hands make light work!

Patrick on the other hand has continued to meet with follow-up groups who attended the Dream Conference. Seeing how many people came and felt their lives stirred by what they were taught has been extremely encouraging. Now, over the next months, our real task is figuring out who will carry things forward as we close up to go on a year-long home assignment to see all of you. Pray for us as we seek discernment on who God is calling to step up and implement these lessons once we head stateside in July. We are already winding down a few projects and turning things over to people we have been building up to lead.
Leaving is bittersweet where you have called home for 4 years. We are excited to see all of you but know God has called us to continue to serve Him here in The Gambia.
