Dear Friends

August has been full of blessings. We visited with some wonderful churches, got involved in new ministry work, and shared God’s Word with many people. Patrick’s ordination service was also this month and we were encouraged by many people during the event.

The ordination service was on August 19th. Pastor Talley delivered a challenge to the church during the morning service and a challenge to Patrick during the afternoon service. Veteran ABWE missionaries Bob and Lynne Trout, who God used during our initial call to foreign missions work, came down from Pennsylvania along with Ron and Ann Washer. Ron is the director of Africa for ABWE. We are very thankful that they were able to attend the service. Bob and Ron have both been a great encouragement to Patrick during the prefield journey of missions.

We also visited two amazing churches this month and shared with them about how God wants to use us in The Gambia. The shorter of the two trips was to Grace Bible Fellowship in Bayonne, NJ. Pastor Basile and Pastor White were awesome. The whole congregation was incredibly welcoming to our family. Hospitality is clearly a gift God has given many in that church.

Later in the month we visited Emmanuel Baptist Church in Toledo, OH. They were another great group of Christians committed to missions and sharing the gospel around the world. This was also a special visit because we were able to see veteran missionary Deb Newsome in between services at the church. She was in The Gambia for many years and has heart for the Wolof people. We truly enjoyed our time at Emmanuel and the time we were able to fellowship with Deb.
