Our last month in Gambian ministry this term feels bittersweet. God is keeping all of us busy in His business all the same. Danielle joined a Deaf gospel ministry. She had completed some American Sign Language for her school language requirements and is now studying Gambian sign language. Alyssa finished her final classes, graduated high school, and looks forward to her next steps at Liberty University starting in August. Meanwhile, Michele and others from Omega Church attended an encouraging Evangelical Church of the Gambia Women’s Fellowship Conference where women from around The Gambia gather to fellowship, encourage, and worship together.

In 2023, Omega Church adopted the Ndungu Kebbeh Health Clinic from ABWE. This year, God inspired a mission movement to organize an event from Friday to Sunday in the village, where love and hope were shared abundantly. Our colleague, Joan Schmitz, dedicated a tremendous amount of effort preparing for 50 volunteers who spent the night from Friday into Saturday. Even more volunteers joined on Saturday to assist at the clinic, where they offered free diagnostic and blood pressure screenings alongside opportunities to engage in prayer.

During one of these prayers, Patrick had an encounter with a woman who revealed she was a secret believer. She shared that years ago, as she sought God, a missionary had come to her aid, showing her the way. She embraced the truth of the gospel and had been praying for fellowship and a deeper understanding of her faith. Living in fear of persecution, she kept her beliefs hidden, unaware that there were steadfast believers nearby. Thanks to Patrick's connection, these individuals now have the opportunity to grow stronger in the Lord. We are truly grateful to God for opening up such meaningful opportunities.

Later in the month, knowing that we were going to leave the country for a while Omega church leadership asked us to be more involved in a Sunday worship service. They did a brief interview with Michele during the morning service before having Patrick delivered the message. She used the opportunity to emphasize the importance of sharing the gospel, as she would not have been there if someone had not repeatedly invited her to church all those years ago. Then Patrick delivered a powerful message about how we all need the gospel every day, no matter how long one has been in the faith and to walk with the Lord daily.

We now pack our belongings, close our home, and prepare to travel to the United States, where we will begin stateside ministry in July. Our newsletters will shift to quarterly reports. The next update will arrive in September continuing quarterly until our return to The Gambia. Please pray as we transition back into American culture, reconnect with churches and supporters, and continue the mission God placed in our hands.
