July Newsletter

Dear Friends,

Despite the coronavirus and the lack of meetings with churches, God has still blessed our ministry this past month. Even when the world tries to shut everything down, we can see God working in the midst of it all.

While our monthly percentage has not changed this past month, we have seen a significant increase in our outfit and passage support. Faithful supporters have increased our outfit and passage support by over 10 percent, which equates to more than $7,000. Our outfit and passage fund is now at $54,226 (80% of budget). We are so thankful for all of the gifts and encouragement you have provided this past month!

As for this month, we are devoting the rest of this newsletter to prayer requests. In this time of uncertainty and limited travel opportunities, prayer is our most powerful tool. Please consider praying for us and our ministry in the following ways throughout the next few weeks:

Prayer Requests

  1. Pray that God will raise up the remaining 15% of monthly support so we may depart for The Gambia this year.

  2. Pray for Alison as she tries to find a way to get back to the U.S. for furlough.

  3. Pray for Brian and Nancy Bluetts who are short term missionaries and will be managing the guest house until we complete language studies. They plan to be traveling to The Gambia next month.

  4. Pray for a group of new believers that Michele is encouraging through discipleship.

  5. Praise God that Michele’s Uncle’s lung cancer is treatable.

  6. Pray for Michele’s uncle who is undergoing cancer treatment.

  7. Pray for the Gambian people as Covid-19 cases increase and medical treatment is limited.

  8. Pray for our new team member, Joan Schmitz, who is at 80% support and hopes to reach The Gambia soon.

  9. Pray for Barney and Adelia who are transitioning into retirement from The Gambia.

  10. Pray that God would call more people to The Gambian mission field.

  11. Pray that churches would begin to invite us out to share our ministry this fall as they open back up to in person assemblies.

  12. Pray for more opportunities to share the gospel both here and for the team in The Gambia.

  13. Pray for Patrick as he trains others to take over the ministries he leads at our sending church.

  14. Pray that we will be able to locate a facility to provide the needed travel vaccinations for our family.

  15. Praise God that He has protected our family and the entire Gambian team from Covid-19.

  16. Pray for Michele as she finishes up her final class requirement.

  17. Pray for Sarah who is on medical leave due to migraines and hopes to be able to return to The Gambia in September.

  18. Pray for a few couples who have expressed interest in joining the Gambian team and new long-term missionaries.

Thank you for your prayers.

In Christ,

The Reeds

Patrick, Michele, Alyssa, Danielle, Luke
