August Newsletter

What a wonderful God we serve who always answers our prayers even when the answer is… My timing is perfect, please wait. Prayer is such an important part of supporting us as missionaries and we are so grateful to you for praying with us this last month. God is listening and faithful as we are faithful. He has answered powerfully to many of our prayers even if it was not in the way we expected.

He has answered prayers for our fellow missionaries to The Gambia as the airports opened and Alison was able to get a flight back to the USA for furlough. God closed the door for the Bluetts. Joan Schmitz monthly support is up to 88% and Barney and Adelia were able to buy a home and settle in without any trouble. Joanne, who is in The Gambia, has been discipling a believer, MKN, who had the opportunity to have a very blunt conversation with another woman who also claims to be a believer, but who hasn't been walking with the Lord for several years. MKN challenged her to repent and get back on the path of righteousness. The woman was angry at first, but by the end she was thinking about her life. MKN said, now we wait and see if she desires God’s changes or not. What a great testament for James 5:19-20... “My brothers, if anyone among you wanders from the truth and someone brings him back, let him know that whoever brings back a sinner from his wandering will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins."

God has heard the prayers for our ministry too. We have found a place to get our vaccinations. It is two hours away from where we live, but near friends, and we will be scheduling our visit soon. Michele is officially halfway through her class on Missional Theology and working hard to complete it in the next month or so. Patrick sent out over 500 emails to area churches and God responded by having churches outside of the email list reach out to us. What a comfort to know God rewards the faithful even if it is not the way we expected it. This led to a virtual meeting with a missions committee who will be voting to add us to their budget in November. God has raised up another individual supporter over the last month of prayer, putting us at 86% of our monthly giving. God is so good, as churches have been starting to invite us out again to present our ministry. We have three presentations set up in the next two months.
