February Newsletter

Dear Friends,

You have raised your support so "When are you leaving?" A question on everyone's mind and ours as well. We promise to shout it from the rooftops as soon as we get about a thousand logistics settled. Leaving for the field for the next four years is definitely not just pack your suitcases and leave.

Getting our house ready for sale that we have lived in for the past ten years is one of the first steps and it has kept us on our toes and should be on the market as of March 5th. We are so grateful to a few local church families and Patrick's family who have helped us this month from installation, to painting, to purging, to painting some more, to demolition, to painting a bit more, to trash removal, did we mention painting, posting things for sale, and a bit more painting. With all the painting comes lots of prayer time with our Lord so we are grateful even in something so tedious.

With all that prayer, God has answered our prayer. The children's passports have finally arrived only to be sent out again to the Gambian Embassy in Washington, D.C. to apply for visas. This is another checkmark on our long list of things to get accomplished. God has also answered our prayer in raising the funding we need for the generator. Our sending church and a few other churches took up a special offering and we even had a local friend do a special fundraiser to reach our generator funding needs.

We also were able to get our first physical meeting with the Faith Community Church congregation in Camden, DE. They are a wonderful supporting church who were excited to hear in-person about how their support is helping us get to The Gambia. We were so happy to get connected with such a welcoming active church family.
