January Newsletter 2024
The distribution journey has just begun now that Omega Church has received a blessing of over 500 shoes. This project started with an act of obedience from the Smith family after visiting The Gambia this time last year. Soon after, when our Lord put “collect shoes” on their hearts, they obeyed and started to spread the news. We will follow up on this blessing as Omega prays over how to use these shoes to share the gospel.
Meanwhile, Patrick finished teaching his methods of Bible study and theology classes. Michele continued helping a small boy in his reading classes and attended a Sunday School seminar. We also took up leadership concerning developing small groups and the Omega Youth Group. We hosted all the small group leaders and hosts to learn and grow from our first session in 2023. It was a great time of fellowship and growth in reaching our community with the gospel through building relationships in 2024.
Due to our small group efforts, a friend from Ndungu Kebbeh visited, and she was interested in
joining us. She enjoyed her time in the small group and wished she could come every week. A few others attended this past month and enjoyed their time. Please pray that more people will have the heart to know more about having a personal relationship with God through Christ.
Besides our small group ministry, God has provided us with a visit from West Cabarrus Baptist Church, the sending church of our teammate Alison Dominguez. The team sought to be a blessing in whatever way possible in both ABWE properties. Michele took the ladies in the group to help organize and distribute anonymously donated supplies to Omega Church’s Sunday School rooms. As they helped, they asked the Sunday school leader how they could pray and what their needs were. Her response was the desire for a speaker to play music for the children. Sure enough, in their bag was just what she had been praying for, and they immediately gave it, saying, “I brought this speaker with me, not knowing if I would even need it, but God knew the need.” What a God we serve! It is such a blessing to see God work through situations again and again through His people.
